Cannon Applegate
Hired by Bob Murray at the Merrick Inn in 1992, until going to culinary school at the Cincinnati State Technical and Community College 1997 through 1999. He returned as Kitchen Manager after graduating, helping the Murrays open Banana’s Tavern, Josie’s, and Murray’s. Being told by his father at a young age to not do the restaurants it pushed him to want to do it more.
Dexter Murray
With both sides of the family being in the hospitality industry there was no way to shake it, though both sets of grandparents and my parents advising to be a “mailman” or anything but restaurants; I started my first job at age 11. Working up the ranks, moving to Colorado working for Aspen Ski Company and The Broadmoor Hotel, moving back to taking on the bar side of the business, is where my love truly blossomed for the industry.
